The use of tags and tag clouds to discern credible content in online health message forums

► We investigated the use of tagging and tag clouds in a web-based message forum. ► The purpose was to explore credibility in forum postings using tags and tag clouds. ► Findings showed that participants were not using tags to find credible information. ► Efforts to explain tags and tag clouds are required for use in web-based healthcare.
