Maximum correlated Kurtosis deconvolution and application on gear tooth chip fault detection

► A novel maximum correlated Kurtosis deconvolution method is introduced for gear and bearing fault detection. ► Impact faults with impulse-like vibration behaviour are treated. ► Comparison to the standard minimum entropy deconvolution method is performed. ► The proposed MCKD method is tested on both simulated and experimental data.
