A holistic approach for assessing traffic safety in the United Arab Emirates

► We investigated 12 potential items related to traffic safety. ► The investigation included literature review, user surveys and professional interviews. ► Eight factors of traffic safety and their degree of deficiency were identified. ► We found major deficiency in driving behaviour and minor deficiency in vehicle safety. ► Recommendations were set to balance between deficiency and urgency.
