Hydrothermal synthesis and humidity sensing properties of size-controlled Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) nanorods

► Size-controlled ZrO2 nanorods were synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal treatment. ► ZrO2 nanorods with different sizes exhibit the surface structure-dependent humidity sensitivity. ► Complex impedance spectra were used to elucidate the humidity sensing mechanism.
