Charging and aggregation of negatively charged colloidal latex particles in the presence of multivalent oligoamine cations

► Colloid stability of latex particles was tuned by oligoamines. ► Lower valence oligoamines induce aggregation by screening the particles charge. ► Oligoamines of higher valence destabilize the samples by charge neutralization. ► The experimental results agree well with calculations using DLVO theory. ► Interactions are governed by van der Waals and electrostatic double layer forces.
