Analysis of the tribocorrosion mechanisms in a pin-on-plate combination on the example of AISI304 steel

► In the paper the integrated description of tribocorrosion phenomena was presented. ► The experiment identifying two mechanisms of tribocorrosion was carried out. ► The study was carried out for AISI 304 steel at various pressures and electrolytes. ► The efficacy of the original simulation model of tribocorrosion was proved.
