Influence of molecular weight on performance properties of polyethersulphone and its composites with carbon fabric

► The polymer molecular weight is a controlling parameter for mechanical and sliding wear performance of composites. ► Asymmetric stretching mode for pristine PES polymers was observed by Raman spectroscopy. ► Increased surface roughness on the plasma treated carbon fiber was evidently observed by atomic force microscopy.
