A new flow conditioner for mitigating severe slugging in pipeline/riser system

► We proposed a new flow conditioner, wavy pipe, for mitigating severe slugging. ► The effectiveness of wavy pipe is verified by experimental data. ► The region for severe slugging to occur can be reduced with a wavy pipe applied. ► The fluctuations of pressure and liquid production in the system can be depressed. ► The wavy pipe works by modifying the stratified flow to others in the pipeline.
