Transmission Policy: Planning for and Investing in Wires

America's clean energy future is impossible without access to the rich resources of renewable energy far from major markets. That will require major enhancements to present transmission capacity, with upgrades to grid operations, technologies, and markets. Policymakers and regulators must recognize the broad benefits of new transmission capacity, reflect those benefits in their decisions, and expedite approval processes.
