FERC Enhances Its Market Surveillance Tools

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has undertaken significant efforts to enhance its ability to conduct real-time, granular surveillance and monitoring of natural gas and electric energy markets. These efforts show an agency intent on gaining a deeper and more granular perspective on the day-to-day workings of energy markets and on analyzing that market data as close to real-time as possible.
