Technology Transfer and Building Automation Systems in Albania

Science, technology and innovation are essential to a knowledge-driven economy and are important at all stages of development. Albania had enjoyed an impressive economic growth during the last years but the country response toward the development of science, technology and innovation has not been in the same proportion. Country capacity and competence to manage both basic and applied research is limited, so transferring the already existing and tried technologies from developing countries looks feasible. In this paper we shall analyze the technology transfer of building automation systems in Albania and constraints of private and public sector toward the adoption of this innovative technology. A successful example of technology transfer in building automation sector is presented.
