Autonomous Ship Manoeuvring Planning based on the Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm

This paper presents some results achieved from a preliminary study on the use of a new method, based on Celular Automata and an extension of the Ant Colony Optimization, to plan feasible optimal or suboptimal trajectories for an autonomous ship manoeuvring.
