Three-dimensional laser interferometric CT (LICT) measurement of shock wave interaction around a circular cylinder

► Laser interferometric CT, experimental 3-D density field of unsteady flow is obtained. ► The unsteady supersonic flow field includes an obstacle (circular cylinder model). ► We improved experimental accuracies of shock wave location for CT. ► Incomplete projection data caused strong artifacts by the obstacle in reconstructed images. ► Precise experiment by diaphragmless shock tube reduced the artifacts from the obstacle.
