ADVANCED WIRELESS MONITORING SYSTEM FOR ELECTROLYTIC CELLS

Kennecott Utah Copper Refinery and Outotec have developed an advanced wireless Electrolytic Cell Monitor system called CellSensorTM to monitor cell voltage and temperature. CellSensor is a truly wireless device as it operates off a small amount of energy harvested from the cell bus bars and requires no external power source. These powerful features make the system installation straightforward and simple and light to maintain. Outotec CellSenseTM system handles and presents the vast amount data produced by the CellSensors. The operators and management receive reliable and real-time information on the electrolytic cell performance and condition enabling improvement in operational and energy efficiency, operator safety, process maintenance and more consistent and higher cathode copper quality.
