A SYSTEM-OPTIMAL ROUTING POLICY FOR ROAD TRAFFIC NETWORKS

This article deals with the establishment of a new real-time routing strategy for road traffic networks. On the basis of the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards single order model, a “system-optimal” strategy is developed and validated with numerical simulations.
