Promotion effect of silver on Indium(III) oxide for detecting trace amounts of ozone

Ag-In2O3 was prepared to develop an efficient sensor for detecting ozone. The material, Ag-In2O3, was characterized through X-ray diffraction, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method. Furthermore, the gas-sensing properties of Ag-In2O3 designed for ozone detection were examined. Ag-In2O3 showed excellent characteristics of ozone detection at 0.1 ppm, fast response (13 s), and rapid recovery (15 s). In addition, Ag-In2O3 exhibited excellent linearity with the ozone concentration and high reproducibility, indicating that it can be applied in commercial ozone sensors.
