Thiol-chromene click chemistry: A turn-on fluorescent probe for specific detection of cysteine and its application in bioimaging

Based on the thiol 'click' chromene ring-open reaction, we designed and synthesized a chromene derivative as turn-on fluorescent probe for the Cys detection. With high sensitivity and selectivity, the probe could be used for intracellular Cys detection and bioimaging.
