A dual functional electrochemical “on-off” switch sensor for the detection of mercury(II) and melamine

- A dual functional sensor for the detection of Hg2+ and melamine is constructed.
- The presence of Hg2+ switches the sensor to an electrochemically “on” state.
- The addition of melamine puts the sensor in an “off” state.
- The developed sensor is selective toward Hg2+ and melamine, respectively.
