A highly selective colorimetric and turn-on fluorescent chemosensor based on 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol for the detection of aluminium(III) ions

The fluorescence emission intensity of sensor changes with Al3+ and in the presence of other metal ions excited by a commercially available UV lamp at 490 nm. It also exhibits the 1:1 stoichiometry and fluorescence enhancement.
