Pyrimidine-based fluorescent zinc sensor: Photo-physical characteristics, quantum chemical interpretation and application in real samples

- UV-vis, fluorescence, life time analysis, 1H NMR titration and HRMS analysis confirm 1:1 complex formation.
- DFT was also employed for theoretical affirmation of experimental findings regarding metal-ligand complexation.
- This ligand was successfully used for quantification of zinc ion in some real natural samples.
