The investigations related to the analysis and measurement of accumulator systems that have been made so far are quite few in number but vary greatly between each other, because they have such an array of objectives and considerations. Virtually, all of these investigations focus on calculations aimed at the mean (average) of the indicators, setting aside any component of risk to make corresponding evaluations. The investigative challenge of this work was to research the conceptual development "in detail" of the functional analysis of an accumulator system immersed in a continuous productive system, proposing and developing a new methodology of functional analysis that allows us to monitor the instant capacity of the accumulator. First of all, the work summarizes major investigations related to accumulator systems and their major contributions to modeling and analysis. It subsequently presents in detail the proposal for functional analysis of the stockpile system, focusing on the monitoring level of the equipment's accumulation, depending on the behavior of the system life "upstream" and "downstream". Finally, a step-by-step application of the analysis methodology is developed.
