Approach on Analysis of Heterogeneous Requirements in Software Engineering

Innovation projects in information and communication technology often include a lot of end users with different use cases that results in very heterogeneous requirements. This requires a special approach for analysis and categorization of the requirements as well as for converging to one architecture solution, which addresses the needs of all end users. The communication between end users and developers should be supported correspondingly. This is relevant in different research and software development projects that involve a lot of users and developers. This paper describes the approach on analysis of heterogeneous requirements that extends traditional approaches with additional iterative steps aiming to find the commonalities between use cases. The approach was validated in the large research EU funded project PLANTCockpit.
