Double impact periodic orbits for an inverted pendulum

► Double impact periodic orbits for an impact inverted pendulum are studied. ► The existence, stability and bifurcations of the orbits are considered. ► The orbits lose stability through period doubling and transcritical bifurcations. ► Grazing bifurcations are observed.
