An algorithm for the computation of the topological entropy of multimodal maps*

We present a recursive algorithm to calculate the topological entropy of multimodal maps with general boundary conditions. This algorithm is based on the min-max sequences — symbolic sequences that encode qualitative information about the extrema of the iterated maps.
