Using Modern Management Concepts and Tools for Developing Advanced Quality Management Systems in New Higher Education Institutions

The Quality Management is a crucial factor for a sustainable development of higher education institutions (HEI). It will be demonstrated that it is possible to develop and implement advanced quality management systems by young higher education's institutions, using best practices, modern management concepts and tools. Furthermore the possibility to use theories and best practices of developed industries and according to international standards to develop coherent advanced management systems which is crucial for the creation of sustainable knowledge, economic growth and social development. This paper is focused on selected case studies that have contributed for the development of advanced quality management systems that were created and implemented in the University for Business and Technology. Cases studies that have been used are as follows: Quality Management Systems, Excellence Model, ISO 9001, Quality Circle, Balance Score Cards, Six Sigma, IT Service Management, IPMA based Project Management.
