Navigation Solutions for Low-Cost, Man-Portable AUVs: Iver2 Lightweight NSW AUV

The Lightweight NSW AUV was developed for US Navy Special Warfare operations from the baseline commercial Iver2 AUV built by OceanServer Technology, Inc. The platform capability and performance met search and survey requirements for shallow and very shallow water operations. Tactical applications have expanded in breadth with field validation and experience, and precise navigation solutions for the new missions are being explored. The secondary processor and supporting architecture which complement the Iver2 AUV primary vehicle controller and share data through open APIs provide an efficient and economical pathway for the development, test, and integration of these solutions. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, and OceanServer Technology, Inc. have targeted navigation initiatives that utilize the Iver2 Lightweight NSW AUV as a development and test platform, and allow for rapid delivery of these new capabilities into the Fleet.
