Greenhouse Energy Balance Modeling Review and Perspectives

The first goal of this paper is to review the existing models for energy balance in greenhouses. The second purpose is to analyze and eventually to define a new concept for a greenhouse using rooftop mounted transparent solar panels as the unique power supply source in the system. The concept of using transparent solar panels for greenhouses brings some new perspectives in the electronic and agricultural engineering field that is why the current focus is on modeling and simulating this type of structure.
