Trackview – Fleet Tracking Solution Using Global Positioning System

Real-time localization of moving assets gains increasing importance in today's transportation and supply chain systems. TrackView is a fleet tracking solution specialized in monitoring railway vehicles. The solution integrates GPS, GIS and GSM/GPRS communication technologies to offer an overview of the fleet of railway vehicles in real-time. This paper presents the structure and the functions of the system, insisting on software application layer capabilities. Special attention is paid to aspects related to scalability, interoperability and integration with existing logistics and enterprise management systems.
