In this paper, a new control strategy of torque ripple reduction in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) is presented. The Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) ripples are reduced by applying an active control with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM). This electric motor is connected to the crankshaft in order to generate a torque sequence opposing ripple torque. The control law is based on a static output feedback synthesis. The problem is reformulated in complex notation in the frequency domain. A complete modeling of the hybrid propulsion is achieved from an experimental test bed. The model is performed at low speed (900rpm). In fact, at this speed, the ripple is very restrictive. Experimental results show the control approach interest.
