AVAILABILITY, INTEGRABILITY, AND DEPENDABILITY – WHAT ARE THE LIMITS IN PRODUCTION AND LOGISTICS?

Augmentation of production and logistics by effective, collaborative e-Work requires understanding the human and organizational augmentation needs and abilities. Collaborative control theory (CCT) and design principles are discussed, and key performance measures for emerging e-Production and e-Logistics systems are described and illustrated in this article. Then, the achievable limits based on these measures in e-Production and e-Logistics are studied as a guide for designers of such systems and for future researchers aspiring to extend these limits.
