This paper describes the process and results of the dynamic modelling of a model-scale unmanned helicopter HIROBO SST-EAGLE2-GS LONG. To model a helicopter dynamics, elementary physical and aerodynamical principles were employed. Parameter estimates, from a project helicopter were obtained through direct and indirect measurements. In addition to standard helicopter flight characteristics, the model explicitly accounts for the stabilizer bar, which has a strong influence on the flight dynamics and is widely used in model-scale helicopters. The resulting model was implemented in a simulation environment under MATLABs toolbox, SIMULINK. Some numerical results are presented to illustrate response of the open loop system to specific commands.
