SCADA ON HYDRO POWER PLANT CASCADE – CASE STUDY

Based on our experience in SCADA systems within hydropower plants cascades on Somes and on Cris rivers (in Romania), this paper concludes a study of the implementations done, some of the arisen problems, results of the exploring using this system, and limits of the achievements. A comparison between the adopted solutions in concordance with the allocated budget and some future developments and improvements are also parts of this study. This paper is useful for conclusions regarding the implementation of the SCADA system in medium size power plants ageing more than 20-30 years.
