The present study investigates the propagation of Love-type wave in functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) layer bonded between piezomagnetic (PM) plate and pre-stressed piezoelectric (PE) half-space. Spatial varying WKB (Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin) method is used to obtain an analytical solution for FGPM layer. In FGPM layer we consider material gradients vary exponentially in the direction of layers width from which we drove frequency relations after facing specific boundary conditions and matched with existing result. Some representative examples are considered to investigate the significant characteristics of the Love-type wave under the influence of some affecting parameters (like initial stress, PM-coefficient, plate width and material gradients) and represents graphically. Cut-off frequencies curves for first three modes and effect of material parameters on electromechanical coupling factor have also depicted graphically. In the study, we find that piezoelectric (PE) and dielectric (DE) coefficients have more influence on phase velocity of Love type wave in comparison to other elastic parameters which should be an essential factor to control the specific characteristics of the multiferroic waveguides of Piezo-materials.
