Microstructure and some mechanical properties of fly ash particulate reinforced AA6061 aluminum alloy composites prepared by compocasting

► Fabrication of AA6061/fly ash AMC by compocasting method. ► Incorporation of fly ash particles into the semi solid aluminum melt. ► No interfacial reaction between the aluminum matrix and fly ash particle. ► Uniform distribution of fly ash particles having clear interface and good bonding. ► Fly ash particles enhanced the mechanical properties of the AMC.
