Characterization of microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Cu-Mg-Ag-(Mn/Zr) alloy with high Cu:Mg

► Zr addition leads to the fracture toughness decreasing and strength increasing. ► Mn addition leads to the increase of fracture toughness and invariant of strength. ► The effect of Mn/Zr is due to second phases indissolvable in solution treatment.
