Impact behavior and constitutive model of nanocrystalline Ni under high strain rate loading

► The NC bulk was synthesized by ball milling combined with hot-pressure sintering. ► Dynamic impact behaviors of NC bulk were investigated on Hopkinson Pressure Bar. ► The impact stress-strain curves present a light strain hardening behavior. ► A mixtures-based constitutive model under high strain rate was built. ► The predicted results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
