A DIRECT-REVERSE TIME INTERVAL OBSERVER. APPLICATION TO BIOTECHNOLOGICAL MODELS

This paper introduces a new interval observer based on direct and reverse time estimates. The observer is designed on the basis of the optimal observer proposed in (Moisan et al., 2007). We show that running the observer backwards in reverse time can be very efficient under specific assumptions. The method improves dramatically the convergence rate through a discontinuous interval estimation procedure. Simulation results considering a two dimensional bioreactor model are shown.
