AN OVERVIEW OF AN ORIGINAL WIP MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK AT A HIGH VOLUME / HIGH MIX FACILITY

This article first aims at describing the key features of an original WIP management system in a complex real semiconductor manufacturing facility. The main reasons behind the successful implementation of the system are then explained. One important reason is the ability for the system to strongly link global management decisions with local dispatching decisions in the manufacturing system.
