A novel biosensor obtained by immobilization of alkaline phosphatase at the surface of pH-electrode has been developed and its potential applications have been announced. Although the applied enzyme is not specific and exhibits biocatalytic activity towards many substrates, the biosensor reveals high and specific sensitivity only for monofluorophosphate. Moreover, this biosensor can be easily converted into apoenzyme electrode and applied for the enzyme cofactor detection. As the developed biosensor works well under FIA conditions, these transformations can be reversibly and reproducibly performed on-line without any strenuous pretreatments. This opportunity has been illustrated by the detection of zinc cations using the developed biosensor-FIA system.
