Application of a metal free high performance liquid chromatography with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS) for the determination of chromium species in drinking and tap water

- A metal free HPLC-ICP-MS method for determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in water is presented.
- Cr(III) and Cr(VI) were determined in 19 tap waters of different part of Italy and in 14 commercial mineral waters.
- Cr(VI) concentration in tap waters accounts for 82% of total chromium in average.
