Structure of C6HF+ and C6F2+ fragment ions from fluorobenzenes: Electronic spectra in 6Â K neon matrices

- Absorptions of FC6F+ and HC6F+ in neon matrixes were observed for the first time.
- The A2Πg ← X2Πu electronic transition of FC6F+ is identified at 569.3 nm.
- The A2Π ← X2Π electronic transition of HC6F+ is identified at 586.3 nm.
- Structures are determined as linear carbon chains terminated with heteroatoms.
