Correlation between maturity of tree and GC × GC-qMS chemical profiles of essential oil from leaves of Aniba rosaeodora Ducke

► The use of GC×GC-qMS enabled the improvement of three times in number of identified peaks of rosewood leaves essential oil. ► Composition of the essential oil extracted from cultivated four year tree is similar to those extracted from older trees. ► By using GC×GC-qMS, it was possible to identify about 3 times more compounds than by conventional GC. ► Four monoterpenoids and three sesquiterpenoids, were found only in the essential oil extracted from the younger tree.
