► Trace Se determination in biological samples by CH4-Ar mixed gas plasma DRC-ICP-MS ► The interfered 40Ar2+ on 80Se was eliminated by a dynamic reaction cell (DRC). ► The interfered oxide ions or double charged interfered ions were reduced up to 50%. ► The Se+ sensitivity was improved by a factor of 3 due to carbon-enhancement effect. ► Low levels of Se values of SRMs with this method agreed with the certified values.
