Synthesis, crystal structures and sensitivity to sunlight of two Ag (I) photoresponsive metal-organic complexes

Two Ag (I) photoresponsive metal-organic complexes with different and obvious fast photoresponse rate under sunlight have been constructed from viologen derivatives 1, 1″-[1, n-phenylene-bis(methylene)]bis-4, 4′-bipyridinium-bisbromide (n = 2 and 3) cationic ligands and silver bromide upon slow self-assembly at the room temperature.
