A new asymmetric Schiff base system as fluorescent chemosensor for Al3Â + ion

A new asymmetric Schiff base chemosensor (HL) has been synthesized. HL possesses a high affinity and selectivity to Al3 + cations over 17 other metal cations by enhancement of the fluorescence emission. The sensor exhibits color change from pale yellow to colorless toward Al3 + ions.
