ATRA-hydrazonate derivatives and their copper complexes against hormone-dependent (MCF-7), hormone-independent (MDA-MB-231and BT-20) breast cancer and androgen-independent (PC3) prostate cancer cell lines

► We report synthesis of ATRA-hydrazonates and their copper complexes. ► Compounds tested against hormone-dependent and independent breast, prostate cancers. ► Compounds inhibited growth of cancer cells, expressing RARα receptors, ► Compounds represent novel anticancer agents targeting nuclear retinoid receptors.
