2-Pyridylmetallocenes: part 2 [1]. Cyclomercuration of 2-pyridyl-cyrhetrene. Molecular structures of 2-pyridyl-cyrhetrene and 1-chloromercurio-2-(2-pyridyl)-cyrhetrene

► Reaction of pyridylcyrhetrene with Hg(OAc)2/LiCl gives[(ClHg)(2-C5H4N)C5H3]Re(CO)3. ► X-ray structure determination shows weak Hg coordination of the pyridine nitrogen. ► In the crystal intermolecular Hg2Cl2 contacts and π-π interactions can be seen.
