Synthesis, characterization, and luminescence properties of mononuclear copper(I) halide complexes of 2-(2-benzimidazolyl)-6-methylpyridine

► New series of the Hbmp-based Cu(I) halide complexes formulated as [Cu(Hbmp)(PPh3)X] (X = I (1); Br (2); Cl (3)). ► Three Cu(I) Hbmp complexes 1-3 are all emissive in the solid state at ambient temperature. ► The auxiliary halide ligand has a significant effect on the structures and photophysical properties of cuprous complexes.
