The effect of perfluorooctadecanoic acid on a model phosphatidylcholine-peptide pulmonary lung surfactant mixture

A perfluorinated surfactant was combined with DPPC and a short peptide to produce a simple model pulmonary lung surfactant system. The perfluorinated surfactant enhanced the performance of DPPC alone, while the ternary mixtures were not markedly improved over the binary perfluorocarbon-DPPC mixtures.
