Anthraquinones and β-polysaccharides content and distribution in Aloe plants grown under different light intensities

Aloe barbadensis was the species with higher amounts of aloin and β-polysaccharides. Younger plants and plants grown under higher light intensities were richer in these bioactive compounds.
